European Academy

European Academy for Choir Conductor and Chorus-Singers.

More and more important landmark among the European and extra European choral Festivals the Fano Polyphonic Meeting has recorded another great success in the world international polyphony  when, in 2004, FENIARCO (Federation National Italian Choral Regional Associations) in collaboration with Europe CANTAT (European Choral Association) have asked the Polyphonic Malatestiano Choir to organise the European Academy firmly for Choir Conductors and Choristers and to hold it as biennial in Fano beginning from 2005, in concomitance with the International Polyphonic Meeting.

Formerly the European Academy was held every two years in different European towns and, in 2002 it came to Italy and for the first time in Fano. The organisers and the Conductors were so satisfied for such success to repeat the experience the following year and to decide just to elect Fano steady centre of the special musical event that, in the first decade of September,  will bring in our city teachers, choir conductors and choristers coming from all Europe. An important acknowledgement owed to the great prestige that Polyphonic Meeting of Fano holds within the choral singing events.
The Meeting closing evening, just every two years and usually on Saturday, is therefore entrusted really to the final Concert of the Academy  in the magnificent frame of the Gothic Church of San Pietro in Valle.
